Tekoa Pouerie is a non-profit senior executive and community advocate with a passion for transforming organizations through purpose-driven efforts. With over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Tekoa has dedicated herself to various causes, including domestic violence awareness, youth crime prevention, adverse childhood experiences, disproportionate minority contact, and trauma-informed care.
Throughout her career, Tekoa has held influential leadership positions; she served as the Executive Director of Power Promise Inc and Chief Development Officer at Harbor House of Central Florida.
Currently, she holds the role of Vice President at Pace Center for Girls Headquarters, where she focuses on supporting girls and raising funds to overcome unique barriers they face. With over 4,000 girls and 21 Pace centers, Tekoa advocates for their well-being, contributing to an annual budget of $70 million.
Tekoa’s expertise extends beyond her work at Pace Center for Girls. She is a prominent keynote speaker and trainer at conferences, sharing her expertise, best practices, and personal story to inspire others.
Her training sessions have impacted over 15,000 professionals from various fields, including medical, mental health, trauma, prevention, forensic interviewing, criminal justice, public policy and research.
In addition to her professional achievements, Tekoa is actively involved in several boards. In addition to her professional achievements, Tekoa is actively involved in several organizations and boards, including Florida Executive Women, Orange County Mayor & Domestic Violence Council, Mayor of Orlando Community Investment Panel, and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
Her outstanding work has been recognized with prestigious accolades, such as the NBA Social Justice Game Changer Award, Onyx Magazine & Women on the Move Honoree recognition, and the Orlando Business Journal Champion of Diversity Award.
Tekoa is married to Dio Pouerie, a graduate of Kellogg Business School, who is bi-vocational as the Chief Revenue Officer for Sales Agency Inc and the lead Pastor of Acceleration Church.
Each year Tekoa host “I am Courageous: Ladies Night Out” event at Acceleration Church, which draws hundreds of women together for a night of inspiration and praise. Both Tekoa and Dio are proud parents of Maximus and Bella.
